Curare Art Space is founded by John Alexis B. Balaguer (b. 1991, Manila)
John Alexis Balaguer is a curator, critic, and cultural manager. His professional experience and research include the fields of operations, management, audience development, publications, writing, and research in the heritage, museum, gallery, and auction sectors. He was a former curatorial researcher at the Ayala Museum, and the founder of Curare Art Space, a digital space for artistic and curatorial collaboration. He presently teaches fine arts at the University of the Philippines - Baguio, and contributes curatorial writing to art galleries in Metro Manila, and criticism to Kanto.com.ph and Art Asia Pacific magazine. He was awarded the Philippine Heritage Awards (2021), the Purita Kalaw Ledesma Award for Art Criticism (2019), and the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts (2012).
